Hey guys, have a factory manual cresta (see for sale thread to view the car) Have noticed the clutch is slipping in 4th, and want to replace the disc before I move the car on!
When I rang up ABS Adelaide to find a OEM Disc, I was informed they use these gearboxes in Ford and Holden Manual conversions and, therefore were a range of disc sizes, ranging from
9Inch
9.5Inch
10Inch
Im really curious does anyone know what the size of the disc is, or, vise-versa know the diameter of a 1G-FE flywheel? As I would like to do the whole lot in a day, and not have the car sitting on someones hoist unecessarily!
Also, Is the clutch the same as a W58!? If so, this would make things a whole lot easier to get a oem W58 disc!
Any help from 1g-fe owners appreciated!
All of the clutch's should be the same between W57 & W58 as all the externals are the same - the main difference between those are the gear ratios.
As far as I am aware, the lower spec models will come with the smaller disc, that is the 225mm/9in. The Gen3 1G-GTEwere the only ones to come with a 236mm/9.5in as there was never a 10in option (so this would only be available in conversions).
