One piston yes, but both the 4 pot sumitomo's and the 4 pot R33 brembo's require the exact same amount of fluid to move the pistons as the single piston mx83 caliper.

A larger master will just mean you'll need less force and less travel to apply the same braking force, and since the weight of the car hasn't gone up, that basically translates into brakes that will touchy.

    But thats just my opinion.

As for an upgrade, from memory the MA70 with ABS has a 1" bore master cyl, and that should be adaptable to the MX83.
I think the land cruiser also has a 1" master.

Give a forums a search, this has been covered before regarding other cars (It was a hot topic around the MA61 a while back for instance)

Just to correct you, as you said a larger bore M/cyl will need less travel to displace the same amount of fluid, but the pedal pressure will actually need to be increased to apply the same amount of fluid pressure as before, if we are talking about bigger callipers its true more pressure will be applied, but the opposite rule applies for M/cylinders ..

Well i been thinking more about this.

R33 calipers are bolt on if i buy a r33 caliper upgrade kit EG Caliper and mount bracket this should then mean ford BA discs if i get two peace with bigger disc it should be a bolt on upgrade as long as you had the BA upgrade before hand?

Here is my example This is a GT3 calipers with rotors to suit r33 gtst, so as above R33 calipers bolt on and you use a small spacer to use ford BA disc to space them out correctly to suit.

Now in saying that if i got the above kit i could use the mounts and calipers it will then sit disc correctly to suit a r33 if i buy ford BA discs to suit 350mm and use the ford spacer ring it should fit? right?

starting to do my head in that is all and i want to upgrade brakes so i can move the GTR Calipers to the other x81

    in theory yes.

but you would want to be confident that the rotors are universal mounting to the alloy hats. thats the only issue i could possibly see. they would be some fairly serious brakes btw.

edit: worst case i guess you could get new alloy hat parts made. if you took the disk and hat to a engineering firm they should be able to machine up a new one, perhaps even with the correct centre bore to eliminate the locator ring.

I sort of need brakes soonish as it is all that is left for me to finish the black jzx81

So i was thinking Just buying skyline GTR brembo 4 pots with slotted rotors as i have the conversion kit to run them and just run gtr brembo on rear on rear with jza80 slotted rears with conversion handbrakes
