Default Building a 7mgte for torque in a 4x4 lux, any ideas?

Hi all new to this site, I have recently converted a 7mgte into a 1980 hilux 4x4, the setup is with a r150f gearbox (4x4 variant of the r154) and lockers front and rear, looking at putting 35 inch tyres on it for mud, and normal 31's or 33's for towing etc.
Current things done are straight through 3 inch exhaust after it dumps when it goes under the firewall with 1 muffler, Bosch 044 pump (will also have to look into a surge tank), standard boost, front mount but I'm pretty sure it's stock, HKS MHG, ARP headstuds.
How much should I be able to screw the boost up in this thing with-out FPR ( getting soon), bigger injecters, lexus afm?
Are the 7mge cams good for torque?
I'm leaning more torward torque than straight out power for what I intend on doing with it.
Any help and or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

3 inch dump pipe might help you out abit as i believe the stock elbow is restrictive. have you looked into a simple twincharge setup? somthing like turbo>blower>ic>tb im no expert so i would suggest reading the twincharge thread on here. may give you the low down tourqe your after if using an sc14 it can be switched off for normal driving.

I had a custom exhaust flange made, just more of a case when I can be assed making up the pipework, sort of a divorced dump pipe setup, 3 inch for the exhaust and I think 1.5 inch pipe for the wastegate from memory. Will have to look into the twincharge, but I don't have a hell of alot of room to play with, as it is my radiator is in the back under the tray

The flange setup, not sure if it will work, will see what happens

The engine bay, and this is without the aircon compressor

what about changing the type of boost... ie, swapping the turbo for a supercharger???

I see one advantage... RELIABLE boost per given rpm - much easier to control in a lifted truck app... either crawling or on the road

Only the intake cam is slightly different in the GE, has around 10 degrees less duration (from memory) & the lift is almost the same. Will give you a bit more torque down low. The exhaust is identical & should be left alone.
You could also fit adjustable cam gears & play around with the settings, on a chassis dyno, to optimise the torque where you want it.

    Thanks for the input guys
Oldeskewltoy, the ct comes on boost fairly early. Another factor is where I live it's not overly "hilly" so not much if any climbing. Besides the ratios are 4.88 in the diffs so it gets up to speed fairly quickly.
I was also toying with the idea of a turbo off of a vg30 apparently ball bearing units, anyone had any experience with these?
How much power/torque realistically can I get from this motor say if I uped the boost to say around 10-14 psi?
Is the Lexus afm a must without an aftermarket ecu or piggy back of some sort?

Its engine dependant, type of headgaskit has no effect in OEM application, Ususally ARP supplies the max torque for a fastener. i have always torqued factory settings, except for my 7M.

Raaah23, not looking to run anywhere near that power and certainly not at 28psi.
Neal, my brother and his mates replaced the head gasket and headstuds a while back, this is the first time driving since then, was just curious to what the torque specs are for the arp on this motor as I wouldn't mind going over them again to make sure they haven't come loose slightly since being driven, and inbetween the different owners of the car/motor the intructions for the torque specs have been lost
