Quoted for truth. They are actually pretty decent ignitors for the $120 they cost.

they would be fine if you have the ecu controlling the dwell. im converting a 3sge to RWD and the dizzy has to go, does any one know what other toyotas used smart ignitors?
would 4afe out of an ae101/111 use the same ignitor as the 20v 4age. are 3sg(t)e smart or dumb ignitors.would this be the same for the st202 5sfe/3sge or a st205 3sgte
    really need info/help

    cheers mike

pretty much ALL toyota ignitors are the dwell controlling types (ie. "smart").

Get in touch with Anthony Kellam, he does 20V dissy removal kits which im sure could be adapted to a 3S-GE without much fuss.

Unhappy Re: Intelligent vs Dumb Ignitors

Toby from Meridian motorsport is going to hook me up with the "black box" so that is not an issue , igniters are my main problem, i can get a 3sge one here and a 20v one there. main concern is weather the 2 types of igniters share the same characteristics, at the moment iv got some people telling me that ill need 2/4 3sge igniters and other saying that an igniter is an igniter and the 20v ones will work fine, but what would happen if i ran 3 3sge igniters and 1 20v, all of this is far too hard, I’m so confused
