it'll mostly likly need to be choped and shut and the ae71 mounts swaped over to the hilux diff but remeber doing so you'll have 5 stud on the back
any diff shop will be able to do it price differs from place to place
Trying to decide what would be the best route to take in diff assemblies, i have a 4age 86kw motor t50 box and now i need a diff. I was thinking Hilux diff as they have a 4:3 diff ratio, LSD, yes( please correct if wrong ) and are strong, and cheaper than say a T18 with aftermarket 2 way or a jap LSD out of a sprinter.
How much modifcation the hilux diff needs to get it to fit.
i want to try to keep it sort of cheap as i'm trying to keep it in a budget, so any help would be greatfully thanked, prices and places would be good or any recomendations.
Thanks Sav

it would be much easier to fit a t-18 diff in there and fit an LSD to that.
with the hilux diff, you would need to have the mounts cut off and re welded in position.
then the stud pattern would be different.
then you would need a different tailshaft.
yopu may need to have it shortened too (?)
go with the T-18 swap

your best option is to use a t18 diff and if it doesnt have swaybar mounts, get the ones from your borg warner diff swapped over onto it then fit an aftermarket LSD center to it.
if you want something stronger the next step up is a mx22 corona diff (f series) but your not going to need it unless your planning to put out around 160-200rwkw![]()

I got my T-18 diff and a 4.1 centre for $70 (U-pull) and sway bar mounts for about $40, it wasn't that expensive for the setup but a LSD will add a bit.

sorry to be a bit picky on a bit of trivia but if someone should go and buy a "kouki" centre based on that info it would be a bit of an inconvenience!
thats very interesting
ive been told and reconfirmed the complete opposite :S
i actaully had my ass handed to me over the issue
