go take a squiz at the modified section on ozbenz.net
I think there's a few w124s with JZ engines on there. Failing that, check out benzworld.org

Hi guys,
Has anyone here done a 2jz conversion on a W124 300ce.
I know you can buy the custom mounts from thailand.
I'm looking for a quote to get the conversion done.
Cheers

thanks mate ill give it a go!
I've done a 1JZ-GTE (with W58 gearbox) into a W201 if that counts.
still going strong after 5 years.
How much does it cost and how long does it take to do?
Make an engineering estimate of times 2 plus 1 then you're pretty much spot on. If getting someone else to do it, assume times 4 plus 1.
Everything adds up in terms of cost and time:
- engine mounts (easiest part of the conversion)
- intercooler setup and plumbing.
- exhaust system, including custom and convoluted turbo dumps.
- wiring and getting everything functional.
- driveshaft setup which depends on whether you want to go auto or manual, 1 piece (spline only) or two piece (spline or 3-prong thingo).
- keep the stock turbos or go single (you'd then require custom made manifold and other parts).
- ECU to suit the modifications.
- Getting a DPI-approved vehicle technician guy to give his stamp of approval, aswell as doing 100kph brake testing. And other modification regulations.
Then there's replacing existing OEM parts, either with original parts or upgraded parts. In my case, I had to do the following:
- complete steering rods / joints replacement as these had been worn out over 20 years of use.
- most rubber bushes replaced with new OEM-spec or aftermarket.
- upgraded springs / shocks.
- upgraded sway bars and bushes.
- replacing water pump and tensioner bearing parts.
- upgrading fuel pump.
- upgrading front brakes.
This is pretty much an engineering project. It aint for the faint hearted.
Hope that helps.
Pair of Merc's with 2J's !
Any updates with either projects ?
