    yeah but no mention there about removing cams.... you can leave them in on a 7m if you have a long head bolt tool. short tool requires removal of cams.

    sounds like the 4ag needs cams out to get to head bolts.
    There is no substitute for PUBIC inches

    Yo,
    Definately need to take out the Cams.

    As said above, loosen all the bolts at the same time a bit at a time so you don't snap the cam.
    Worth setting it on top Dead Centre (TDC) and checking all the marks on Front Pulley and Cams line up before you pull it apart, just so you know what you are looking for when
    setting it back up again.
    You will probably have to pull the Distributor out to gain access to one of the Head Bolts - again look at the marks before you pull it out.

    well 7 months later and we are no better off then I started, head still isnt off but getting it taken off next week and checked out, just wondering do you need to change the head bolts when changing the head gasket or can they be reused.

    Grab a Toyota manual and a set of vernier calipers. If they measure within spec, then you can reuse them.
