    Default 18RG oil pick up

Hey guys, currently putting an 18rg into my rt118. The rg came with a mid bath sump. Where I need the front bath. So I changed them over off the original 18r. Only to find now the pickup won't fit in the gap! So I changed them over. Put the 18r pickup on the 18rg. Is this ok?

    Cheers

    Mark.

P.s sorry if this has been covered before. I did search.

Perfectly OK & the only reasonable thing to do, Do you have the bigger pump, you know with the spacer ?

As Owen said, all is well. The pickup bolts onto the bottom of the pump, so as long as you have mixed the RG pump with the R pickup, then there is no issue. The pickups themselves didn't change between the twin cam and poo versions of the 18R.

As a side note, if you intend to drive around racetracks which have sweeping bends (particularly right handers) it may be of benefit to put some baffling into your sump to prevent killing the engine with oil starvation. X style and swinging gates seem to be popular methods.
