I have decided I must harden up and take Friday off.
I noticed lilcrash has a room he is trying to get rid of in north sydney if any one needs accommodation.
Looks like Mel is going to fly up and we are going to cruise home over a few days down the coast.
Willofan can't do the touring car show off on Saturday, so I guess that just becomes a free day/polishing day for us.
Does any one want to do the dinner on the Sunday night?
No dinner for me i'm afraid. i've just had a major bomb dropped at work, so i will definately be driving back sunday arvo/evening/night. there's a possibility i can't also get the friday off.
regardless, i WILL still be attending in the crown (of which i'm going to get my historic plates today). gonna book a hotel out near the event for the satday night, as i can't be fucked dealing with any sorta sydney traffic. i'm gonna be forced to drive sydney city roads next weekend as it is, so i think that'll be my quota for the decade filled!

dfunkt there are two hotels real close... only about 5 mins from where my mum lives too
Crowne Plaza Norwest on Sydney Hills
Hills Lodge Grand Mercure on Sydney Hills
Hmmm... I'm currently organising freight for a pair of Recaro seats from Melbourne to Sydney. Freight will be in the order of $50-100. Does anyone reckon they can fit a pair of seats in their car (without damaging them) and is willing to take them to Sydney? They will receive dollars similar to what freight would otherwise cost. I'm looking at you dfunkt... or the guy with the MX62 wagon.![]()

There is a very good chance I will be in Sydney for this. Staying in the city...

We will have to work out a departure time from Melbourne.
I prefer early so we miss some of the shit Sydney traffic at the other end.. but then given our whale pace maybe thats ambitious and we will end up in it regardless.
Any preferences on time people?
If the wife can get the weekend off next week, we are coming as l am on holidays. It was either Sydney or Deni for the ute muster. I go to the ute muster next year.
I will probably leave on Thursday and see my kids who live in Albury and get to Sydney late on Friday.

In my opinion Adam, the earlier we leave the better. My car is much happier at whale pace anyway (for fuel consumption purposes). Happy either way.
Matt.
Adam, let me know what time you are coming through Albury and l will join the convey.
Should have got the hatch fixed before we go but next year.

So. I am now in need of some form of accommodation for fri, sat, sun and Monday. If anyone heading up has a spare bed/couch/floor space in their hotel room - please let me know. (Obviously, I would be happy to kick in for the room costs). I might be able to work something out, but if I can't. I may be hanging out at the "ol' bus station".![]()
