flashing fuel pump says error but at least it also means the ECU is alive.
Possibly, I'm now having problems with the DB-9 to USB connection so will replace that with a different one and re-check everything.
Yes it was blinking continuously with the other two

Neat, I didn't realise we had a Megasquirt thread. Subscribed for later.
Not a Toyota, but my daily Handi is running a Megasquirt.

^that is so cool! anymore info on it?
In a nutshell, it's a '98 Sirion motor in an '86 Handi, upgraded to EFI (tank, lines, wiring, etc.) running a MSII v3.0, MSExtra firmware and modified throttles from a GSX-R 600. Nothing too extravagant, but sounds awesome and the throttle response is nice and crisp.![]()
Okay turns out the route to my problems was a crappy Belkin USB-DB-9 connector, Have since gone DB9 straight through and the car the 2TG is up and running!
Now up to the tuning stage and setting my VE map, the table generator looks as though it's going to work well but i'm unsure as to what MAP to put in the peak HP and peak torque settings at?
I have 53map/KP set as my idle as that's where it was idling around.
I also don't get an RPM reading whilst cranking, although motor fires and runs after a few cranks.
Possibly VR wired backwards?
SR20DET TA23
is power to MS maintained during cranking?

Yes and remains on the laptop screen with everything working other then the RPM signal but then fires into life and shows RPM above 400

how about power to coil? power to injectors?
could be VR, easy to test![]()

MS2 PNP 4AGE
Wideband
Coming my way, as it stands engine has a set of poncams. It runs well enough but likes to stall and the idle has to be all the way up
Never really tinkered with this kinda stuff before but surely it cant be that hard to improve it and have it idle. Wonder if it will really just plug in and start lol
You picked up one of these? http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/m...2re-p-503.html
Interested to see what the MS-PNP is like compared to the DIYPNP and if it's really worth the extras $$
Remember, download Tuner Studio (or buy the full version for auto tuning) and don't use MegaTune/Megatunix![]()
I'm happy to pay a bit more to keep the loom, few disadvantages but I accept that
I couldn't justify the cost of a adaptronic or whatever, if a little box of electronics from 1986 can run an engine well enough then I'm sure this will be fine.
Plan is to get it running, do some basic self tuning and depending on how that goes, pay for a few hours on a dyno.
looks like fun![]()
