hey guys ive got a 2jz in a cressida and wanted to know how strong are these t56 gearboxes??? im pushing 500rwhp and once tuned next hoping to see closer to 600. just wanted to see if it will handle this kinda power and are they much different in size compared to a r154??? and no i dont want to go the r154 as ive already blown one of them and two npc clutchs in 6months and im over it.

The problem wtih a T56 in a cressida is the size of the box, tunnel needs mods to fit properly.

Trans tunnel and firewall mods with the size of the box vertically compared to an R154. Once all the stuffing around with bellhousing adapter, clutch, concentric throwout etc is done it should be quite a good mod. I'd like to do it to mine, looks like Rush imports were working on adapting their 1uz to T56 kit for the JZ's: http://alscforum.com/discus/messages...tml?1253239814

Flywheel / Cover Plate / Discs $2,530 AUD
This is with Twin 5 PUK Ceramatalic Discs.

    Adapter $550 AUD

Uni / Yolk / Weld on End $352 AUD

Gear stick relocate / Short Shifter with no stick or ball $350 AUD

Wires for Reverse and Speedo $55 AUD
You can see some pics of how big the front of the box is in relation to a 1U bellhousing here: http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/sho...-1uz&p=1030038

i can get an adapter made from a mate of mine. i was going to change to an auto because i was sick of fixing the r154 but if i can stay manual would be good and the toyota 6speeds are to dear. its just that i do give it a hard time so wasnt sure how good they are.
