    Default 5MGE / MA61 odd plugs in the engine bay help!




    those plugs circled


    are hanging off the ECU -> Engine loom. and the 6th injector also comes out of this loom

    The wires i can tell are Red/Blue trace and Yellow (2pin) which is reverse lights
    and Thick Black/white trace single pin, which is starter motor trigger.

    But they hang high up off the loom and dont reach ?! there is also another 3 /4 plugs, one being a 2 pin circle blue one. ?


    Then there is this:





    Which comes from the fusebox engine bay area, and connects to the positive terminal , it has the large starter motor main connector on it, along with starter motor trigger? Black/white trace.
    and also all the other SAME IDENTICAL plugs that are hanging off the loom in the first pic!


    Whats the deal with this and which do i use? are they even usefull as i cannot find their partners to connect them to!

    I think what you are finding is that the 5M-E had the starter motor, reverse wires and auto trans wiring in the body loom (coming from the fuse box) and the 5M-GE has this wiring as part of the engine loom

    Agreed, and I'm guessing someone has butchered the original looms to get the motor working.

    Yeah, coffee, there was no reconciliation done between the loom that came with the engine and the loom that came in the car, so there's likely to be a few double ups like that.
    Wiring does my head in, so is always one of the last things I do...
