HEY guys i have just bought another ma61 but this one is a 7mgte (my 1st turboed car since im on my greens) and its got a boost controller on it but its pretty shit cause it keeps boost spiking up to 15psi. apperently they come out standard with 7psi and the guy i bought it of said its at 9psi at the moment which is good but when it spikes to 15psi it hurts my neck and thats how good i want it to go lol. so im wondering what i can saftly run thru it

stock turbo? usually the turbo can run 14psi max anything over is pushing the turbo.
but id probably want to run safc, and bigger injectors atleast
safely on a 7m is a funny combination of words...
if its spiking from "9psi that is claimed" to 15psi then thats a problem
you need to fix that before considering raising the boost otherwise it will spike from 15 to god knows what
without a fuel computer raising the boost without checking AFRs is a recipie for disaster...
yeah I would stay around the 10 -12 mark without doing the Lexus afm mode and bigger injectors.
However as above sort the spikes out first

11psi is the boost cut on stock ECU is it not? Not sure how it could be spiking to 15psi unless its got some mods.
What is the history of the motor, head done recently? mhg? If it was me id get it to stop spiking and leave it at 9psi if the motor is of unknown history.

10s the magic number with a 7, unless your doing more mods, as Kedderz said, it 'should' cut at 11 anyway.

well im not 100% with the history as i haven't built it all ino its got a metal head gasket, hks fuel management system, rebuilt turbo, intercooler, and thats all i no of i think.well the T peice looks hand made lol so il go buy a newby and put it to 10psi and that sounds like a safe number.i defiantly no its spiking to 15 unless the guage is wrong or it cld even have a after market computer or something???? who knows

dnt no its in the glove box.thats wat is written on it.u can turn the fuel up when u turn the boost up.as i said im a noob to turbos lol

im runnign 12 atm and about to bump it up 2 15... standard bottom end (rebuilt 5year ago) aftermarket ecu, hi-flowed turbo...going external gate
I would suggest reading up on it.
(And leaving the boost turned down until you do)
