    Default 1JZ taking longer to start

    Hello guys

    What ya inputs, Lately my 1JZ has been taking longer to start like it will rurr rurr rurr rurr then it kicks into life ecu wiring is fine all seems ok.

    battery is fine forgot to add its a strong start but takes longer to fire up

    ive got a similar problem, but sometimes it misses a little bit and a has a ruff idle for the first 10 or so secs, sometimes even cuts out, then it sorts itself out, car will always start tho, sometimes its instantly others it takes a few secs.

    rshuwy my car has the same symptoms as yours, i was thinking that it might be vapor lock on the fuel system. Also can't be my pump as it was replaced with a new one with i did the conversion, seems to also do it more on hot days when it's parked under the sun.

    cold water temp sensor resistance too high?.. maybe effecting the cold start tune

    First check your fuel pump. Run it manually shorting FP pin in your diag connector for say 10 seconds. Then start the engine and see if it starts faster.

    If that does not help make sure you see correct voltages at STA and NSW ECU pins upon cranking.

    Valve stem seals leaking?
    Spark Plugs / Coilpacks?
    ECU?

    sounds about right, the new pump, and hot days is spot on!

    interesting went to start it then bonnet is in the sun rest is under cover at work and it took abit to start and 10secs of crap then bang all good also noticed idle sitting on 1000rpm even when at operating temp

    Could it be an issue with the starter motor?
