the waterpump was brand new but since putting it on i had that aluminium shroud on so it was making it worse. I couldnt really tell if there is an improvement. But last night i could definatley tell it was better after removing that shroud.
The top radiator hose wouldnt even go hard after driving for 20mins.
i would of used the au falcon fans but the stock intercooler piping is in the way. Eventually i will get a bigger front mount and move the battery to the boot and get a decent intercooler and new piping.
I think im going to find a jza80 clutch fan and shroud instead, that should fit. It'll put my mind at ease lol

If everything else mentioned above has ben checked off.....

Go to clark rubber and get some 10mm deep/15mm wide length of soft rubber. They have it in rolls, cut this up and stick it around the edges of the shroud, this will space the shroud back the necessary 10-15mm from the edge of the core that is needed to allow the fans to draw from thee outer edges of the core instead of just where the fans sit. By the sounds of it the shroud is blocking the air passing through the core properly and is only allowing it to pass theought where you have the fans which sound very low in CFM. The whole exercise will cost you 20 bucks for the rubber and contact adhasive needed to stick it to the shroud, even if you then upgrade the fans down the track the shroud will be fine to take the higher CFM and act in the way it was supposed to.

    cheers

    Hi Cressid@,

Glad to hear things are running a bit cooler

No you will not damage anything running the fans constant. You will lose a little fuel econermy, and a little wear and tear on the fans and alternator, but nothing detremential.

Either set up will work (clutch fan or elec), just make sure your shroud/cowling has been made to suit or you will be back at square one.

    Kind Regards,

    Ryan

Thats agreat idea to get Cressid@ out of trouble.

I just want to point out though this will never be as efficent as a proper designed cowl/shroud, as the fans will still be drawing most of the air from in front of the fan, not through the whole coil like a standard set up.

But still an excellent idea for the cost.
