Hi,
Well that's a useful post!
What sort of immobiliser? How is it connected?

It's happened twice,
I have a switch on my dash board that seems to short out, i accidentally pressed it,
It killed my engine, i have no reds on the dashboard, only have reds when the alarm is on,
When the alarm is off and i put it on acc it make a loud clicking noise from the glow plug relay,
I wa thinking about taking it to a auto electrician to remove the emobliser but keep the alarm, any thoughts?

Maybe its not the Immobiliser.. Maybe your battery is shot...
River - Im not sure what immobilizer it is, i bought the car on saturday last week,
it looks like a shoty connection been, solded together,
there is a button in the dash board and the cable follows through the firewall, straight to the wiring into the glow plug relay( tested the relay it works perfect)
Wa5 - the battery is showing fine, been tested, levels are fine.
are you sure the switch isnt for the Glow Plugs.. a manual overide to switch them on..
I know of quite a few 80s 4wds that had the original timer setup removed when it started to play up.. replace with a button (or a switch).. hit it for 5-10 seconds and turn the key...
Switch running into the glow plug relay just doesnt sound like it could immobilise the car..
especially if it is an old type non electronic diesel... might make it a bit hard to start on a cold morning at best.
If you bumped the switch, and it is for the Glow plugs, and was on for a while.. it would have taken a lot out of your battery.. are you really sure the battery isnt down a bit? do you have a spare, or can you jump start the car?
held it down, and turned the key, nothing it just clicks,
it looks like it doesnt let the plugs glow, so the coil doesnt appear on the dash,
the battery is fine, works the radio and all the dashlights when the alarm is on,,
Takes a lot ,more to turn over a high comp diesel than it does to run a few dash lights and wireless...
it got checked on Wednesday, as the start motor got recon'd and the battery shows green on the clear lens.
what kind of vehicle are we talking about?
1992, LN86R rebuilt diesel.
have you checked ALL of the fuses sounds like there is a short in the glow plugs somewhere and youve blown a fuse
Yer all fuses checked, none were broken,
The plug could be stuffed?
does it crank over?
is the battery charged? as in showing at least 12.5V with a volt meter
Is there voltage at the glow plugs when cranking?
when you say "its killed my engine" what do you mean?
1983 Toyota Celica Supra
problem solved, the immobiliser had a come loose at the plug on the dash, and the battery was stuffed, thanks everyone!
