....the best method is to go to the wreckers and get some uncut rear springs and put them in.

There isn't a thread on here or any sound reason that suggests cut springs are the way to go so just don't do it. Do it properly or not at all.

As for the sunroof not working it could be just the switch or the motor. An auto elec would be able to tell you without too much messing around.

Being new on Toymods is probably reason enough to let you get away with asking for advice on keeping cut springs captive but going forward you will realise people on here don't offer advice on doing anything dodgy and illegal.

    that being said
i took a pair of rear springs off the blue shitter to be re set 25 mm lower
and the spring work guy only charged $10
i said that was cheap , he said all we did was take a coil out
but apparently they cut it with a high speed big arse cutter , then they quench it in oil straight away
its the heat build up that occurs with a small angle grinder when cutting that alters the temper
plus it sounds like unstable project cut the coils to much

Also by cutting them they can't absorb as much energy, so you increase the chances of bottoming out the suspension. There's a reason lower springs have a greater spring rate.

geez you lot are a bunch of chickens. ive had cut springs in my car, mate have etc etc, never had a serious issue.

use some zippie ties to keep them in place.

pull the switch out and poke a multi meter in there and see if the switch is putting out power when its pressed. if not then your switch is stuffed, may just need something resoldering or could be proper broken or worn out.

but he does have a serious issue
adn in NSW we actually have roadworthy checks, and.. as he sounds a bit like a young fella, is inviting a reaming by a "nice" cop/RTA dude when they see the car bouncing along, looking like it has 2 coils out

just accept 2 coils was not a good idea, get some near free normal springs, or just spend the $200 or whatever on K-macs (or something better) $200 is not a lot of burgers
