Righto,
Received this locked Toyota stereo in the Hilux I just bought, and I cannot for the life of me find what car it is from.
I'm thinking 2003-04ish Corolla, possibly Echo
6 stacker also.
Cheers
Tim

Typing that into google gives donuts really.
When I get a code for it, how do you enter it.
Press the numbers one by one on startup??

Can you enter that part number on www.toyodiy.com and see what it finds? That is if that function on the site still works?

My dads 2003ish hilux had that stereo. Was the hilux before the current shape. from memory it was a factory upgrade option.
If you show your local dealership that you own the vehicle, then they should be able to look up the code for a small fee.
cheers

FT86 - still under warranty - cant modify it
2 RA28's, 18RGEU - dead - went bang, 1JZGTE
1 RA35GT 18RGEU,
1 AE86 4AGEU
1 RA65 2JZGTE
The code cant be looked up you will have to find it or take it to a dealer for them to reset with their machine.
Looks to be from a yaris/corolla about 06/07 because the later ones had bluetooth.
He doesnt even know what car its from.... Most Toyota dealers will want a Vin number before they play ball....
Not if its fitted in his car that he owns.
I can confirm its a 2005 SR5 Hi-LUX Stereo. Exact same as the one in my old mans one.
I dunno if they fixed this bug or not but my mate got the stereo out of an 06 corolla to put into his old datsun but didnt have the code, he got it for nothing so when we heard this we tried it...
Put the stereo in the freezer for night or 2. I bullshit you not and i dont know why, butwe tried it for 2 days, let it defrost in the sun then we wired it up turned it on the word "code" came up it beeped and then operated normally no code required.
I dont know how or why it worked but it did. I'm not saying you SHOULD do this but you could....
Wish I had a F#%ken awesome toyota.. saving for the goodness now.... stay tuned....
Go the stereo working, it was from a corolla.
As for the freezer, I'll leave it as a story not an experience.

An 08 corolla stereo will fit in an 01 car etc... Pretty sure it was the zze's which had the first of the double dins. Not 100% on it, but across most toyota model sthe stereos have the same plugs and can be interchanged etc.
