so thumbs up for EDIS? it will be upto the task with the Megajolt?
looks to be pretty easy to setup. i got sick of cooking at the wreckers yesterday trying to get a trigger wheel/harmonic balancer off a falcon... will try again another day with better tools and look at grafting it to my motor
pffft rev limit lol. when it throws a rod you lift!!

assembly is just the opposite of disassembly - just you swear in different spots!
haltech platinum 2000 and M&W pro 16 6 channel CDI is the go
Yes it will set you back a few grand but in my opinion its the best setup.

And that's a bit of a waste considering all he wants is a 10x10 spark advance table for his prehistoric carby motor![]()
If EDIS starts too look dificult (mounting crank wheel and sensor) you could just run the 7mgte coil packs, 7mgte ignitors and 7mgte CAS with the mega jolt. If you have all the gear it may be an option, just a little more wiring, I heard the 7mgte coil packs a punch.

really???? hmm might be an option. i am trying to keep the thing as simple as possible.
just found i can buy the 36tooth wheel for nix online, saves removing and cutting up a falcon harmonic balancer

andrew_mx83,
Diy autotune who sell the megajolt sell 36-1 wheels. I have had success with bolting them on through the centre crank pully bolt, welding them on the crank pully, and bolting on a pcd on the crank pulley. Not to difficult to do depends whether your into wiring or fitting.
Roger
haha i like the fitting & turning... motor already has countless hours of machining time in it, it is a 7m-ge/5m-e/7m-gte hybrid for ultimate rev-ability
however i am interested in running it without the EDIS and sticking to 7m bits, do you know what is involved in this?

You should take this discussion over to the MegaSquirt forums since thats probably you best & cheapest option.

Looks like the megajolt is not out yet and only the megajolt light, this only runs with edis therfore edis is probably your best bet still unless you went full megasquirt which would cost more and more complex.
Roger
i thought the megasquirt only had 2 ignition channels?
i think i will just go down the EDIS + megajolt jr route.... looks simple, affordable and should do what i want.
