u wanna no bout doing the headgasket yourself ? also just go buy a VRS kit for the 5sfe. contains all the gaskets and seals u will want.
I have a st184 celica with a blown head gasket that i will hopefully be using as a daily driver. Apart from following the Service manual and the normal headgasket thing, has anyone done this and got any tricks/time saving tips before i got ahead?

AKA- TURBOCAMRY After selling my widebody camry its about time i drive a toyota again so my new toy is a 78 mx32, custom 2 pack pearl paint, 19's, adaptronic, front mount, 60mm external gate with screamer, Garret gt47, and a 1UZ currently running 370kw on 15psi with 710nm game on!
get the head checked for warpageThat's the best advice I can give ya.
Aside from that, I'm pretty sure most things are marked for ya (such as camshaft pulleys etc etc) - just remember to follow the manuals instruction when removing the camshaft to get the head off - otherwise you *could* possibly bend the shaft a little.
If there's one thing I know, it's never to mess with mother nature, mother in-laws and mother freaking Ukrainians
pressure test and shave at a head place... especially since u've got a blown HG on you.
also if the oil has turned to cappucino, a good flush is in order i.e. new oil, filter for 1000 kms or so until no more cream colour in the oil. (i usually do it once and it's good).
good luck with it mate~
