Default 2jzge into hilux engineers cert question

    g'day,
I have an 86 model hilux 2wd cab chassis that i have put a 2jzge into up and running nicely even on dual fuel.
now trying to get an engineers certificate for it and im being told so many different opinions on what is required its not funny, even the RTA are telling me different shit
I have just been told that i now have to fit a colapsable steering column to it.

Does anyone actually what is required by the rta for this conversion, i know there are a lot of changes happening at the moment but some sort of dirrection would be nice.

It seems to be that i the engineer doing the inspection says its o.k, then that it.
but i am getting different opinions from everyone.

Any help would be appreciated as this and the rta is really starting to piss me off....
    Thanks in advance.

I am pretty sure they have a collapsable steering column like litldv8 said.
This is why i havent bothered with engineering because you get stupid shit like this from them.

    Thanks,
will check with toyotas parts listing to see if it specifies that they are,
N.S.W the bloody nanny state, had four different R.T.S staff from the engineering department give me four different &
conflicting answers to what is required, Obviously they dont even know themselfs,

will battle on and keep you updated with how i go.

wont let this rest . cheers all.

This is pretty standard fair when getting your car engineered. You can read all the documentation but each engineer will have his interpretation.

Best thing to do is pick and engineer and build it to what he wants. Get cert - give to RTA - done.

The RTA is probably one of the most hopeless places to seak advice other than what they have in writing - like their guides to vheicle modifications etc
