Default GZE Ancillaries on 7A block

    Hi all,

I've just spent ages piecing together brackets from sellers all over Melbourne and the east coast to convert an AW11 bigport 4AGZE's ancillaries (alternator, air/con compressor & power steer) to an AE101 4AGZE set up.
(Engine bay is E90 chassis) AE95 4WD wagon to be exact.

So, when fitting GZE's into 4wd corolla you have to grind away the bottom of the block to clear the 4 wheel drive transfer case, to the point that one of the thread holes for the oil pan bolts is removed. It's a border line issue. A guy running 12psi turbo never had a problem but didn't own it for too long.

I know a few people who've done it, but no-one who's run their GZE hard for a long time. One guy who's done it explained that his leaks oil, but his wagon isn't a daily driver.

4AFE, 20v and 7AFE blocks have a notch in the block already.
This links show a 20v pan requiring only a little grinding

This link shows a 20v oil pan being held up to a small port block

..and this link shows the gap between the factory 4afe block and the transfer case

Long story short I'm thinking of leaving the A-dub engine unmolested, buying a 7AFE and building a 7AGTE with a bunch of smallport parts I have kicking around the shed, using just the stock bottom end and a small turbo like a T25.

    So...
    here's the question:
Will all the AE101 brackets for alternator, air/con compressor & power steer, fit onto the 7A block?
4AFE/gearbox issues, 4AGT/ZE replacement changes to fully blown 7AGTE project...

yes, as far as im aware. i do know that the 7A water and oil pumps fit on 4ages.
pretty much same block, but slightly taller for the longer stroke. they SHOULD fit together like a normal N/A FWD 4A.
    N/A for life...

Just checked with Barry Manon / MRP on facebook, he's selling a spacer ring that's the same profile as the bottom of the block.
It goes between the block and the oil pan.. and you use the 20v oil pan not the 7AFE pan.

Something to do with the A/C compressor mount brackets hitting the cast alloy section of the 7AFE oil pan.
The 20v pan sorts the A/C bracket clearance issue but it's too shallow for the crank, hence it needs a spacer.

    MRP
Few reasons here. 1. Arp main studs don't fit into the 7a sump on #5 unless you cut the stud and don't use the washer. 2. 7a sump doesn't allow for the ac to fit on fwd cars. 3. 7a sump doesn't have a windage tray. Still nothing wrong with the 7a sump but for those wanting to use the 4a sump we have this available then no mods will be needed to the tray to make it all fit.
