I'm looking to get a custom crankshaft made to destroke a 1UZ.
Does anyone know and/or recommend a shop that could be able to perform this work?

    Thanks

Nope as I'm going beyond what the standard crank can offer. Must be custom made.

It's common on chev's to use titanium caps to increase the bearing size once you go too far offset grinding. Been proven on many 1000hp + cars too, will save you $1000's of dollars over a billet crank. But I guess its how deep your pockets are.. If it's improved rod ratio your looking for a 2UZ block might be worth a look too.

All I said is it might be worth a look, I'm sure you've got the experience on these things, but I've often thought about a 4AGE build in a 7AFE block, was hoping something similar would work the the UZ motors.

So the 2UZ uses a shelf piston and the same length rod then? So you could run longer custom rods with the shelf pistons to get a better RR?

Yeah thats a big offset, won't have enough meat I guess.

Thanks all. As Ed stated I'm looking at a stroke of just 66.5mm which will bring the engine capacity down to 3.2L giving me a legal engine conversion in NSW.
As this is going into a road car I'm not looking for an absolute top shelf item as I would be if building a race engine.

You will be paying top shelf price for this work. Crankshaft Rebuilders here in Melbourne can also do this.

Any reason you want a V8? Plenty of 3 litre V6s and with a little stroking/boring you could get them out to 3.2 litres. Would save a bit of coin too.

V6 would not sound as nice.... but smaller/lighter...

Hey Ed, are they made by the same chinese manufacturer that is selling "1800hp" rods for different engines on ebay?

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/4340-EN24-Bil...item5d2c2ed447

Im a bit sceptical considering they quote 1800hp for nearly every engine.

    Their ebay store...

Anybody used their cranks or rods?
