Re: JZX90 1JZ in MX83 air con idle up
Well its been a while but I finally got it going on the weekend. I ended up drawing my AC magazine clutch power from the respective relay. Don't know why I didn't think of that in the first place. Just have to hook up a relay for the idle up now.

So the Compressor wasn't even connected to the relay after the conversion was that why?

Re: JZX90 1JZ in MX83 air con idle up
its not that hard
jzx 90 ac compressor wire goes from compressor to under dah near ecu
cressida ac wire goes from dash to the square body plug thats part of the engine harness behind glovebox
so u should find both wires behind glovebox join them up and if u have gas then it will work
unless some wally has fkt with the other part of the wring
which is find is very common where people pull apart way more wiring than is needed because they
havnt done this stuff before
see how it idles if its ok then dont worry bout idle up
i recently wired a 1j into a 74 merc
his ac compressor was so tight that whan ac came on it stalled motor
even with idle upn connected it didnt help
the idle up takes 2 or so seconds to fully take effect so ac compressor
would cut it and load up the fan belt then make engine stall
but ac wasnt that noisy

Re: JZX90 1JZ in MX83 air con idle up
Try as I might I couldn't find a single pin in those plugs behind the dash that gave power when I turned the AC on, but sure enough when I checked the ACM relay in the engine bay, it was all good, so I just wired the compressor directly to that. The engine stalls any time I pull up to a stop, so I'll have to connect the idle up.
