should be around 150psi
Hey
so i just checked the compression test on my 1JZ because im having a few running issues and i got these results,
1. 130 psi
2. 125
3. 130
4. 125
5. 110
6. 110
What do you guys think of them?
The motor idles like its missing after its run for a few minutes and the motor also makes no boost at all? thats what im trying to fix.
Cheers for any help

should be around 150psi
1983 Toyota Celica Supra
110psi is pritty low, checked valve clearences?..
poor a few mm of engine oil in the plug hole and try each one again, if the pressures increase with oil in the pots its your rings if they dont valve clearance may be way out
Was the battery holding up ok? or was it "slowing down" by the time you got to the last two cylinders?
Wet? Hot or cold?
Sometimes the cyls are wiped dry by the time you get to the last few & read lower.
I don't care about the throttle being open.
'I've scrapped better.' John stated when asked about the car by the guy with the silver tipped cowboy boots!
Dude check your turbos if there is no boost. Maybe a wheel ha fallen off and is stuck in your exhaust
Yea thanks guys.
Only just put the turbos off after checking them and they are mint.
The battery was getting tired by the end so im chargin it now.
Recken i better check the valve clearences though. i havent checked them before.
Cheers

becareful, even when u tip a pinch of oil in the pot, the compression will still come up if you have valve troubles, but open valves dont explain the lack of boost, but could result in low compression. you should have between 8 - 12 thou clearance between the cam lobe and the bucket while the lobe is pointing away from the bucket face. if u cant even fit a 2 thou feeler gauge in there your valves are being held open, i had this trouble with a 3sgte.
i had 180,170,80,70 however.
but still had 22psi.
id be looking else where for the boost issue.
