Will it fit - Wheel tyre package on AE102 Sedan
Hello there,
I recently bought some very nice wheels from America 15X7 ET40 with hubrings to replace the old steel 14X5.5 ET40 (or ET38) factory wheels. My intention was to put 195/50 R15 tyres on them but I've realised that even with the 185/60 R14 tyres there's not a lot of clearance between the tyre bulge and the rear Mcpherson struts on my AE102 Sedan.
Oddly enough the tyre bulge on the 185/60 R14s is actualy wider than 185 and I have about 15mm to spare between those and the strut. The 15X7 width from lip to lip is 205mm and there's about 10mm clearance so my only worry is that 195/50 if it has much of a sidewall bulge is going to touch and I'll have to resort to 185/55 on the rears. (As spacers are illegal for road use)
Anyone running a 195/50 R15 on a 15X7 ET40 package on a AE101/102 sedan or hatch? Did you have any tyre touching strut issues at the rear?
(Vehicle is at factory height)
