just thinking out loud here, why not just put a 1/2 inch or so outlet at the bottom of the tank, the connect that to the back of an external fuel pump ? vl maybe ? then you have a 40litre swirl pot ? it would make finding a tank easier.
Callum: not sure about location, but they're all rather largish: Cerifo=65litre, R32=60litre, R33=65litres, the GTRs are even larger.

so much stuff. so little time.
you would need to have a decent pre filter for the pump.
Whats a 20L fuel cell worth?

Cruzida: no idea locally - but from somewhere like JEGS they're pretty cheap (as little as $160 USD) - but designed for drag/street use and have no baffles.
Something like this sells for ~$230 USD tho freight would increase that substantially:
briney: (edited) would need some kind of swirl pot to eliminate starvation. car will move around a lot and once the level gets down, it will suck air.
have you called a few places like Extreme Custom Engineering who fabricate this sort of stuff all the time to get an approx price?? if you have some measurements in mind... give craig a call 3274 3700
does the above kit from the US come with the float level sender etc etc...
Late Classic Minis (91-2000) have EFI with an in-tank pump. The tanks are pretty compact and take 34 litres. They are not hard to find. But the lines might be too small for a 7m?

matty: some local rally guys up here suggest make mockup from cardboard and take to a local fabricator. The TA64 replica had it's tank built for ~$500 a few years back. There's a alloy few fab places up here. When I get the MZ11 in the front yard, I'll pull my digit out and measure up the boot area.
Some of the US kits include senders.
bnicho: thanks for the info - 34 litre would be borderline but interesting to know.
You'll pay ~$10/L for a custom alloy tank (for a carby car) and ~$15/L for an EFI one.
Obviously the small you go, the slightly larger that price gets.

would it be a relatively simple operation to incorporate one into the bottom of the tank ? weld a simple pot made out of 4 inch exhaust pipe on the bottom ? as a bonus, you would probably hear eric cartman sing "in the ghetto" in your head every time you opened the boot.
so much stuff. so little time.
that's looking like plan C (A is custom tank with ext pump, B is small Efi tank).
Odd that you mention music - a hoping fo fit speaker and a small amp so I can play Ride of the Valkeries (spell) when i drive towards spectator points.
ride of the valkyries (think that's how it's spelt.) would be awesome. some guys in a boat didn't steal your surfboard did they ?
