Default Hilux gearshift that comes out sideways (maybe Hiace)

I've been told that some of the Hilux (or Hiace?) versions come out with a W series gearbox but sitting on its side, so the gear shift mechanism effectively sticks out sideways from the extension housing.
If it's true, which Hilux is is and which way does the stick point?
And if it's to the left, where can I get one?

The Hilux diesel 4 speed looks like this, is available if you want it. No shift lever though

that's same as the liteace box linked above
afaik, all the underfloor boxes have two levers, rather than a single actuation point like a normal floor shift
