    Default Suspension (TA27) celica

Looking to do some coilovers on this but all around/ problem is I know this will put way to much load on the stock mounts for the axle in the rear. as for pan-rod and rear sway-bar modifications goes where would I be able to x reference from a stock Toyota for those sort of parts for the Celica. will post pix. Any help would be appreciated.

Adjustable panhard rod and both swaybars can be purchased aftermarket for these. As for a coilover setup, yes it will be too much stress for the stock rear mount, however you should be able to fabricate a stronger mount and position it where you want.

Unfortunately for you, this is all very much custom conversion territory, so you won't be able to just change parts with other cars. Also, if you are going to go to the trouble of sorting out coilovers on the rear, would it also be worth changing out the diff to an IRS setup, possibly from an S13 Silvia??

For the panhard rod and swaybars, try Whiteline, Sleeka Spares, or Ebay. TechnoToyTuning may also help you out.

Thanks for the help on this as for the coil over set up I would be just doing the fronts for now and similar following what the ae86 suspension used for aftermarket. I do have a cusco 1.5 way LSD in the ring and gear for the celica.

Have a read through this thread:
    http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/sho...=1320&page=446
The majority of the suspension work you plan on doing (assuming you have decided to can the rear coilovers) has been done. Please note that the majority of parts you seek which are available for AE86 won't fit the TA27 due to the shorter front struts and narrower diff. However, if you look at what people have done to the TA22, you will find a wealth of information. Once you have done some research (there is even a thread on installing rack and pinion steering), then you will be able to ask some more specific questions, and hopefully shed light on some of the grey areas of these conversions.

Thank you so much, I can't tell you how long I have been searching for this info.

I have tried the usa Celica forums but they seem to have gotten upset when I didn't want to post photos of the TA27 I have since there is only 1 RA25 RHD in the usa and mine seems to be the only TA27 In the USA.

Good luck with your ventures. The info is in here, and depending on what level of fabrication ability you have, and what laws you need to comply with, there is plenty that can be done. However, for a lot of stuff, you will still need to bite the bullet, measure what you have, and search endlessly for a suitable item that might fit.

This rear set up for ae86 should work with the celica:

That looks a little different to the traditional "coilover shock" coilover. Rather it is an adjustable rear spring seat with suitable spring, and adjustable rear shock absorber which bolt separately to the underbody... or at least that is how it looks.

    Does look quite interesting though.

I'd prefer that rear setup if it wasn't so expensive, so I decided to go with this: http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/showthread.php?t=57715.

Awesome! thanks for the update, will buy the mag tomorrow.

Not sure if it is on the shelves yet... I get it delivered.

Nice looking setup on the back there, will look into whether I can get it engineered for road legal-ness.

    Hi,

Yes, use an AE86 axle, but make sure the rest of the AE86 is bolted to it.

Considering the TA27 is one the the most rare and sought after Celicas, I find it hard to understand why you'd modify one - unless what you have is a total POS and not in good nick so modding it is an option.

TA22 RHD clutch master should be the same - assuming your TA27 is RHD also. Try Ebay Australia.
