Your set up will smash a stock 3T GTE's power output from IDLE onward OR I will burn it!
Hi,
Just checked the build plate of Trini and she has an A40 autobox.
I rang James (Castle Hill Toyota Import Specialist) and I asked what auto box did the 3T-GTE Jap cars have. He checked and said the A40 and A42 gearboxes were used in 3T-GTE powered vehicles.
So, I'm okay now, regarding the gearbox, as my engine will pull around the same as a 3T-GTE.
Though I will connect a tranny cooler to it.

YelloRolla's KE20 1/4mi = 11.32 @ 119mph @ 22psi on slicks
12.44 @ 113 mph on 165 wide street tyres
210rwkw - not bad for a smelly 3TGTE running pump fuel.
back to 18rgte talk, firstly, thanks for the above info, but i just have a couple more questions regarding it. i assume the mitsubishi head studs you are talking about are made for the 4g63 engine? what sort of machining did you have to do to the head?Originally Posted by YelloRolla

The machine work required to the head is to mill down the head bolt posts by ~19.0mm.
The head studs are for the 2600cc Astron engine (G54B); ARP part number 207-4202.
The mains studs are Toyota 7M GTE; ARP part number 203-5402 - these come with 2 bolts as well which aren't real useful for anything.

River,
much to learn, you have.
...... butt scratcher?!
Hey guys any body purchased stuff from this guy??
http://www.toyheadauto.com/
i've just bought some stuff off him last week. his a nice guy to deal with.
on another note would an electric in-tank fuel pump feeding a bosch 044 be good enough to keep the fuel flowing?
yes, 044 will be more than enough.
There are plenty of ppl going through the pain of sorting out an elegant lift/surge solution in a 28 that's legal, quiet, and doesn't smell like fuel.
i rekon a drop tank would be the most elegant solution.

LTJet, does your in tank pump directly feed your 044, or is there a surge tank with return from fuel rail between the 2?? If there isn't a surge tank, then your in tank pump needs to have a higher flow rate than the 044. If not, then you just need to have a good enough flow rate to take care of 80% of your engine's fuel sucking capabilities at full noise. The other 20% is where the surge tank comes in (because you don't drive at full noise constantly)
