Does it cost more than the average annual wage for every day that it hasn't turned up??

I asked this question in the CCDT, however the majority of feedback involved standard motors. So... what's a good 100kph cruising RPM for the 18R-GTE?? River seems to like 2600@110kph. From my calcs 2700rpm at 110kph translates to using a W58, 3.73:1 diff, and 225/50/16 tyres (though River seems to have done his with 4.1:1 diff gears??)
Motor specs are 92mm Arias forged 8.5:1 pistons, balanced to the billyo, lightweight flywheel, stock 18R-GUE cams, 18R-GUE head (very mild porting, stock intake manifold), CT26 huffer. Pre-bottom end implosion when I had 8.3:1 88.5mm pistons with stock flywheel and no balancing, the torque seemed to come on nicely around 2500, with noticeable boost at about 2800rpm. I would expect with good tuning and the new bottom end specs, that torque RPM will drop down further. So would a 2400rpm 100kph cruising speed sound good??

Hi,
probably going to be a hard question till you get ur engine dyno'd. Find out what the torque curve is like. Also, why the concern with what revs it should be running at? If you wanna accelerate just knock kit back to third n floor it
I don't know what the 1j has at 100k, but i wish i had a 6th gear. Has a w58 gearbox and hilux 4.11 diff.

Hi,
My turbo (GT25R) is starting to sing at 2600rpm, so when in 5th gear at 110kph there's no need to drop it down to 4th as she picks up just beautifully. Of course, if you want to really haul arse then sure, drop her into 4th.
The whole point of my build with Trini was for her to be fun and very nimble, as most of her time will be in suburban traffic. The 4.1 diff and the small turbo (with no lag) means she flies off the mark and accelerates like a demon. I chose the W58 purely because it had that long 5th gear, which is for those time when I am cruising the highway.

I emailed my pump guy last week and look at the response:
"I had it pumping parts wash fluid for 5 or 10 minutes.
So I think it is close….I would recommend pumping oil with it for at least a few hours before putting it in a motor but, that would be your call.
When shall we get together."
Toysport even expressed interest in testing the pump! I couldn't ask for better. I should at least have some updates
This news is good. Me Rikey...

Meeting the guy for lunch tomorrow, and shipping it off to Toysport for eval!! Woo Hoo. For those of you who don't aren't familiar with them, they were basically TRD USA before Toyota came in direct. They still have a lot of contact with Toyota, so they are going to try to find out the hardness information for the stock components.
Cool, i'm still on the 'interested parties' list![]()
