thats what i had in mind with a motec and kkr 430 turbo, is the cutom plenum really necessary?
i want a powerful 18rgt but it doesn't have to win horse power hero's or anything.
my budget isn't near that of say justins

Been meaning to post pics of the 3inch stainless dump and final wastegate plumbing...looks like a piece of medical gear it's so tidy
Wiring issues all sorted and it's running well....sounds hell tough with just a 3 inch hotdog.
Just sorting a few annoying issues like getting a rad hose that'll fit. Hope to get it to the exhaust shop next week and then to the tuner next door.

Well we hit the dyno today for a tune session....hmmm ran out of injectors by 4K with 160hp at the treads and the curve only just starting to really ramp up.
Good news was useable boost as low as 1600rpm which surprised even me looking at the size of the turbine....gotta love our manifold design
Revs just sooooo smooth, feels like a 16v.
Gonna drop in some 13BT injectors if they'll fit this evening...otherwise on the search for 7MGTE i reckon...anyone?

I wouldn't mind betting that just about all recent (last 25 years) petrol engines are probably forged cranks.
I speak of the stock ones. That's not to say that an aftermarket forged crank might not be a better item.

Do a search for DSM injectors, and pick out the 1st gen (often refered to as "1G") on the ebay motors site..... the 1G DSM injectors are 450cc/min and single point spray pattern which is perfect for the 18R-G head. The later model DSM injectors are a different spray pattern (better spread for multivalve head), and will give too much wash on the port walls of the 18RG head.
Otherwise the RX7 injectors are plentiful there too, and cheaper than australia.

The final parts shots. A good dump like this is part of the key to getting 10psi boost from the monster turbo under 3000rpm and useable boost from 1600rpm.
