    Default 1jz intake questions

Hey guys, currently out in my garage pulling the intake off my 1j non vvti, plan is to clean it all up and change injectors, maybe even get a new plenum.
    Questions are

    1. When I get aftermarket management, im hoping all these sensors can go bar these, tps, knock, injectors, coils, those two that look like they run off the cams, triggers? I'm guessing then I would just have to run a start cable to the starter, and re wire in my alternator, that way I could do away with the old loom completely and run what ever comes with the management?
    2. Will I need to keep these coolant lines going to the idle control? There's shit every where lol.
    3. What are those eBay plenums like performance wise?
    4. When I install oil cooler and remote filter do instill need water lines going through the oil filter housing?

    Thanks guys

1 - Depends how well you want it to run I'd suggest you also want to keep the MAP sensor, water temp, air temp, Oxygen sensor (better yet install a wide band), cam sensor/s, crank sensor, oil pressure sensor

2 - I'm not running the coolant lines on my 2jz... (and gee there really isn't shit everywhere! If you want shit everywhere look at a 5M-E!)

    Cheers

Yea thanks man, I'm realise I need those sensors but I'm mainly talking things directly bolted to the intake mani or close to, of course I'll run aftermaket gauges, do standalone ecu still need water temp sensors?

Im guess what ever ecu I decide to run will come with either harness for required things or tell me what sensors I need.

Don't buy an Ebay inlet manifold....... they fit about as well as a Mack truck in your anooos (which I hope is not easy for your sake)

There is really nothing wrong with the OEM inlet manifold & Throttle Body design, unless all you want is shiny bling & an oversized TB to make small throttle openings feel like WOT

You only need one of the cam triggers for ignition control (home signal), not both.

Oil cooler setup does not require the water preheat/cooling, but i'd suggest you go with a sandwich plate that has an inbuilt thermostat instead.

    Cheers
