yeh, they fit no problem.
its the 8:1 pistons you cant put into 8:9.1 motors as the 8:1's dont have the cut outs on the skirt for the squirter's.
Hi,
I need to put some more pistons into an AE92 that has the 8.0:1 pistons fitted.
Considering using the later 8.9:1 pistons.
From what I have found same wrist pin etc but wondering if any problems with using them, or are they just plug an play.
i.e.
Is valve/piston clearance ok ??,
Assume yes as I believe same cams used.
Does piston weight varie much ?,
Assume marginally yes, I have balanced crank so just checking how much problem there will be.
Will they cope ok without the oil squirters that are not fitted to the AE92 ??.
As I have aftermarket ECU I assume that the re-tune will provide sufficently cool conditions to prevent problems.
Thks,
Chrs, PAt

i dont have a funny or cool signature.
i measured em and the actual valve cutouts are virtually the same, the difference is the lower comp has a larger dish, and higher comp is more gradual dish
should be no issues with cooling, unless you are leanign on it with boost.. and even then it may not be necessary

Thks for the replies guys, just did not want to make any expensive mistakes.
Its too much boost that melted the last lot. Well actually my mistake swapping intercoolers and not checking the intake temps etc.
