Check your emails for one from Neil Choi, it arrived this arvo
See you at the event, happy prep!!
...so what does this mean in regards to belts / harnesses?
2” UNLESS AUSTRALIAN DESIGN RULE COMPLIANT, ARE NO LONGER PERMISSIBLE
...I have a year old RPM 2" harness that passed scrutineering last year and although it is AS/NZS 2596 does this make it ADR compliant? The CAMS manual says "Seat belts as fitted to production cars as standard equipment and marked as complying with ADR 4/00 or 4/01 shall be deemed as complying with AS 2596.
Since my belt is neither standard equipment nor 3" does this make it ineligible?
It then goes on to say in the scrutineering sheet "SEAT BELT – Secure & In Good Condition and within age limits". So is that all they are checking for? There is 3 references to everything and not all match up.
Anyone shed any light on this or shall I email Neil directly?

Has anyone else gotta get a new fire extinguisher from supercheap?
Mine is 1 month overdue... grrr.
If someone is already getting one, can you grab me one as well? Otherwise I can get Emma to go and get one.
dont forget the metal fire extingusher bracket must be held down with min2x 6 mm bolts with lock nuts

Sh!t Ian, I didn't see that one.
Over the years I have been quite critical of CAMS, but after having done the Phillip Island event and been scrutinised down there, I reckon they are easier than AROCA, and it is AROCA not AASA.
I will be pinning the scrutineers down about only checking what is on their list, if they try to go beyond that I will be showing them Neil's email that says "I have included the scrutiny sheet so that you can check over your car against it." That to me says it all, their Scrutiny List is their bible according to what Neil has said.
I would be contacting Neil direct to get clarification Silly Rabbitt, please post up his response here so we wll know what is going on.
Here is Neils response. In under an hour as well so good on him for being on top of things
Hi Graham
Your belts which are AS 2596 therefore are ADR compliant so no problems.
As long it is in good conditions.
Hope this clarifies it.
Cheers
Neil

...oh and as long as the scrutineers let me run my windscreen banner sticker on the front of my bonnet. I think last year was the first time in 4 years that they could see i only look out the top half on my screen and let me go without raising a stink.![]()
