Default clarification needed on trans fluid - jzx100 a341e

    Yo,

I am about to do a trans service on my chaser. I have filter and 12 litres of fluid.

Now, the local toyota dealership has given me T-IV BUT, on the dipstick it states TIII.

    Are the two interchangeable?

I come from a holden dealership background, we use dex 3 and dex 6.......dex 3 is not interchangeable with dex 6, this is why i am concerned about toyotas trans fluid.

T-IV is backwards compatible to T-II and T-III. Have sighted the Toyota service bulletin that says so...

Only ensure you don't mix the two. I use T-4 in my JZX100 A340E. Note that unscrewing gearbox sump is not sufficient to let the old fluid out completely, sensible amount of it would still be there.
