    I work in suspension and there is no bigger killer for threads than grease and dirt, light lube such as crc, wd etc is ok, so yes what you mention af300e is likley correct as the wrench cannot "feel" when it is tight.

    Also any tool is only as accurate as the person using it.

    Internal engine fasteners are different obviously and need to be lubricated correctly, I'm sure common sense indicates the difference.

    Thanks guys - if anyone wants the drawings so they can make one up themselves just let me know. Ill scan them and post them up.
    Im going to make a smaller one and put a 3/8" broach through it and hopefully have a little more accuracy for 5-30 Nm. I'll have to wait till i can use the workshop again next year unfortunately.
