Bugger the R154, just get the whole R150 from the 2TR-FE Hilux. It's the same box with different ratios and the shifter is alot further forward, which would suit the Hiluxes better then the R154 positions which are all pretty far back.
Short story is w58 is making a rattle noise=bad
Solution is r154 conversion
I now there has been chatter about this conversion in the numerous 3rz topics but has anyone done it yet in a Toyota hilux? Did we work out what shifter needed to be used?
I know i need a 32mm spacer and a 2.7vvti bellhousing and of course a r154 gearbox but iam no sure about the shifter assembly

still no good. Input shaft is 30mm to long and the shifter is 100mm to far back
workshop removed the gear box and as expected its sheared the splines clean off ahaha
What do you mean? If you are using the gearbox that the 2.7vvti (2TR-FE) bellhousing came off of course it will suit it.
