4agze temperature issues????

I had similar temp issues with my GZE intially, would only be on 1/3 and if I drove on the freeway the temp would plummet to cold start territory on the gauge.

We changed it to toyota genuine 4AGE thermostat and it stays smack bang just under half all day every day except idling for ages on a hot day.

Genuine is worth it, and I was happy when I saw my frontcut had toyota red in it .

Somewhat on topic, but from what i have heard the Toyota red coolant doesnt contain any anti-freeze/glycol mixtures. Now, i would normally use Toyota red day in and day out, but im going to the snow for a week this winter and actually driving the Cressida up there. Given the propensity for the 7M to coolant BHG and the probability of it being below freezing (significantly) any ideas on how the Toyota red will stand up (note, Red is fine down to -5 at least, since thats what it used to get to in Canberra)

or phone up toyota customer support ? odd thought i know.. but ask they may well have an answer..

anyway you shouldnt do a head gasket in.. thats what welsh plugs are for.

Yeah, very true, But being stuck at the snow with a welshplug popped cant be fun.
