It may just be the spring dude.

Try using compressed air and a pressure guage to see where it opens. As you're running a screamer pipe, do it with the engine idling and you'll hear the note chage as the gate cracks.

If it's too high, pull the cap off the gate an pull a spring out (if you're using a higher pressure gate there may be more than one spring in there)

If it's new I would think it sticking is unlikely.

Also, as a test, bypass the boost controller and hook the gate straight to the manifold.

    Cheers

    PS-looked good at SCS mate.

MS-75 is right, however it may sound stupid, but have you plumbed your wastegate up properly?

IE how are your vacuum/boost lines hooked up? Because I fucked this up to begin with, and the gate never opened, because I never gave it an opening condition.

I know that Tial do make a 16psi spring so it's probably one spring.

Further-more, for what it's worth, my gate was sticky when I first got it too. I've had SHIT loads of problems with my wastegate sticking. I tell you what, I'll never buy tial again.

Mines' off to the wholesaler today to get looked at because it's still fucking sticking. (Yes, I'm pissed off)....

Show me how you've got your lines hooked up. You might find that your boost controller is inappropriate for your setup.

Ahhh one step ahead of ya there !!

Did that today with the car running etc. The gate opened up at 16 psi like i was told it would.

So it is not the spring pressure !! thank god ! ( it does use two springs )

I have a feeling it may be the restrictor in the boost controllercausing a pressure drop / not allowing enough volume of air through to the gate to open it .

What i will do next is by-pass the boost controller all together and run a line straight from the plenumn to the gate. If it then opens on boost ill know the prob lies with the solenoid restrictor.

I may then need to drill the restrictor out abit to allow for more air flow.

Ill let you guys know what i find

I by-passed the boost controller today and hooked the wastegate line straight from the gate to the inlet manifold to see if it would open.

It did !!!!!!!!!!!!! sounded tuff too.

So the prob obviously lies with the boost controller solenoid fittings being too small ( one of em has a little 1.5mm restrictor in it.
I will change the fittings on the solenoid to larger 4mm fittings and everything should be sweet !
