Check fuses.
I had a similar issue recently, ended up being a burnt out engine loom at the airflow metre![]()
Hey guys
Well I was nearly home just drove up a hill not boosting too hard bout 5psi.
Then the car just stalled.
So tryed to clutch start it while rolling, no luck.
Starter motor works, just keeps turning over, Head lights indicators Stereo etc works. So basically everything on ACC
When i turn the key to ON My electric fans do not work, And i cannot hear the aftermarket fuel pump either...
My guess is that ive blown a fuse or relay somewhere... So guys whats my first point of attack?
Check fuses.

Project:RA65 with an engineered 1ggte conversion.

Pull codes from the computer, if the CEL is hooked up.
RA23 - Twincharged
JZZ20 - Daily
Never pulled codes from the ECU, how do I do it and I dont know what CEL is
I checked the fuses in the engine bay, and inside the car, all are perfect.
Ok heres the funny thing, This morning it started............................WTF!!!!
The 2 relays i suspected it could have been are working, as I can pull both of them out and my electrical fans and fuel pump work... So its somewhere else that caused it.
CEL stands for check engine light. Don't know if 1G has diagnostic plug in the bay or if you have to do it at the ECU, but you bridge two terminals (TE1 and E1 normally?) - you trigger the codes to be displayed. This all hinges on your car having it wired in properly though.
In that scenario i'd have been checking EFI MAIN fuse / relay
KE20 CA18DET / RN25 12R / IS200 1G / NA MX5 B6
if it happens again
to get home , find the 2 pin plug near your airbox / afm filter that has a yellow connector on it and 2 pins
get a wire and connect them together, that will at least run your fuel pump so you can start the engine
once engine dies
did you check for spark from spark leads?
also i agree with bananaman, EFI/MAIN fuse sounds like it
Do you mean the EFI/MAIN fuse or relay? As the electric fan and fuel pump work with both of the relays removed... (when the car will start)
The 1G has a diagnostics box in the engine bay, Where do I read the codes? is there some kinda special tool?
And admiral cFF33 What plug is that exactly? Is it quite a round one?
you cant read the codes through the dash as per normal as the dash loom is different.
i think you can use a test light /screwdriver tester thing that has an LED in it, and it flashes in sequence at the diagnotics box rather than the dash.
the plug is a 2 pin rectangle connector that is near/running off your AFM loom.
Ohk so its off the AFM loom, All the wiring in my engine bays a bit of a mess...... That will make it easier to find. Cheers, you may have saved me a slow trip home being towed oneday![]()
also if it dies again another trick like johns if you have diagnositc box is to bridge +B and FP that will get the fuel pump going!

That may be easier dude cheers!!
Happened again today, Car was working when i turned it off. This morning no luck.
But i dunno i wriggled a few wires around, tryed bridging +B and FP for the fuel pump, no luck there just didnt work.
Then it was just able to start ......wtf
did you try what i said at all ?
fuel pumps prob on the way out?
