Default A341 and 5-speed (probably A651) shifting pattern?

    Hi All!

Have received an 1JZ-GTE assembled with a/t for a swap, but until now didn't check it thoroughly. However it turned out that connectors in harness do not fit those on the tranny (marked as 30-41LS). The connector found in engine wiring that mates with solenoid block contains 12 pins. Which means it is for a 5-speed box.

So I have ECU and wiring for a 5-speed auto and have to (if possible) run the 4-speed device with it. The most obvious and straightforward decision is to convert 4 solenoid control signals into 2, leaving lockup solenoid control intact. And the problem is, I don't know either shifting pattern for further investigation. Could anyone help in obtaining this?

To my understanding that the 5spd is totally different to the 4ssd.

I think an aftermarket auto computer like a suprastick or a PCS auto computer would make it run the 4spd would resolve the shifting pattens as you would adjust/custom to suit your car.
I have seen the PCS auto computer in action which is quite simple to wire up also have full control of the auto.

    Cheers.

Once more, what I got now is a *standard 4spd gearbox* and some rare ECU+wiring. According to the ECU's wiring I assume that it is designed for a 5-speed auto.

So an aftermarket ECU is not the way because I can always buy a used factory *standard* computer with its wiring and that will fix the problem. I can however build my own kinda computer which would take commands from the ECU and convert them to 4spd control signals. Everything is fine except that I don't know in which order to switch gearbox solenoids.

At the same time I don't want to seek for the solenoid on-off patterns by try and error method, for it could damage the transmission. I think I would find the info I need in service manuals, but I have no idea on where to get them.

The VVti 1 and 2 JZ , GTE,s run a 12 pin solonoid plug but are 4 sp autos , theres 7 solonoids in them . As to what they all do i dunno.

madmont, thanks, the on-off diagram found at your first link matches exactly what I was looking for, I will check if there's some more of useful info. According to the cambelt's message I was hopelessly wrong about the 5speed a/t

cambelt, extremely valuable info. btw, do 89661-3A660 ECU s/n sound familiar to you?
