i just realized Im assuming the G series tailshaft flange is round..
I dont like my luck![]()
G'day,
I am installing a F series diff into my racecar (ae71) as I will be needing a custom tailshaft I was hoping to make a setup that will fit as many diffs as possible without screwing around
I plan to use high ratios from hiluxes and such, ~4.5/4.8 etc, but I want the least hassle when using wrecker centers.
Is it possible to use a G series tail shaft flange on my tail shaft for the 60x60 bolt pattern, then offset drilling the 55x55mm bolt pattern so the tail shaft can be used for both diffs
Regards,
Phill

I believe there was a factory G series flange on some F series diffs in some GZ20s and perhaps even GA70s
Some time ago Wilbo was selling an F series diff with a G series flange if memory serves me correct
GSE20 IS250 - daily
UZZ30 Soarer - 1UZ-FE/R154/Adaptronic - trackday roughie
UZZ32 Soarer - Active Hydropneumatic Suspension (A-SUS) & Active Four Wheel Steering (A-4WS) - cruiser
I had a F series with G series flange, flange came from the centre bearing of a Hilux. Not sure which one as the tail shaft mob had it
Also I'm not sure of this but won't a F to G series tailshaft have to be shorter as the G series centre is longer???

I had the flange on my MA61 F-series diff modified so it would bolt up to a G series tailshaft. The diameter had to be increased slightly (run a bead of weld around the circumference a few times then machine it back to round) and then new holes were drilled 45 degrees from the old ones. So in theory it will work with an F or G tailshaft now.
Is this what you want to do or have I misunderstood the question?

There are two different flanges on Hilux G series diffs. The earlier diffs had 8mm bolts and the later diffs had 10mm bolts. They changed to the bigger bolts some time in 1984.
