How I made dual chan igniters from 2 bigport ones

If you're doing wasted spark ign3 out of the ecu gets configured to drive the tacho
The E420C's work better (in dealing with signal noise) if you use four coil on plug units, 2nzfe coilpacks work nicely on the 16V 4ag head. Very simple loom alterations required and you can even make a plug-n-play adapter for them so you dont have to modify your factory loom at all. Also neatens up the bay getting rid of the ignitor and bulky factory coils.

Jase - are the E420Cs OK with signal noise if using a Microwreck X4 and coil-per-plug?
I'm thinking of my 18RGTE here, which will run on an E420C, and i dont know of any coil-on-plug-pack that will fit the 18RG head.
Of course I would mount the 4x coils so that there are only very short lengths of spark plug leads, most likely mounting them on the cam cover. X4 ignitor will probably be mounted on the inner guard or inside the cabin.
...... butt scratcher?!
should be fine, just shield your temp signal wires well.... I'm sure you've got a contact for wire![]()
I probably would too
but i'm just curious how much the fuel pressure changes...
ie, for the pressure to drop below the fuel pressure regulators setting... there cannot be any fuel going back to the tank (ie, the reg isn't opening), which means the pump is operating so low, it is tho it is a deadhead setup, which just seems really odd.
but if the pump still flows enough so the reg opns, then there is no difference in pressure right?
JP's comment seems to indicate that the pump will not be able to keep up the pressure enough to open the reg?The injector deadtime changes with fuel pressure and if you dont have a dedicated fuel trim table allocated to be active when the pump is at low speed you map will be very messy,

I'd go and take a video of one of my cars to demonstrate what happens, but I really can't be bothered re-enabling the fuel pump resistor to demonstrate on any of them.
no need for video (far too much effort)
perhaps you could just explain simply?
is it an actual fuel pressure thing? or is it to do with the adaptronic itself (voltage changes or something?)
edit: or does it only occur on the transition, when you are tromping pedal from an idle/cruise state where pump might have powered down?

Ok, resistor is out, except for playing around. I'm interested to see what happens now.
Might have a look at some of those Magna igniters in the link above, they're available from Adaptronic for $50 each, but the wrecker is probably cheaper.......
