I'm shit at explaining things but I'll try.
As an example at the days Garth organises Justen could have his car entered and paid for ($210 entry in this case) but I can attend with no car and simply sign on with my CAMS/AASA licence and then drive his car if he is kind enough to let me or I could split the $210 entry with him and share the driving for the day in his car.
Number of cars/spots for the day is fixed, entry price is fixed as the fee for the day is covered by the 32 cars entered at $210.
Works well at Garths track days but I understand the 32 spots haven't been filled for ACTSC day as yet.
A mate of mine who is attending and has paid asked me yesterday if his wife who has a track licence was able to share their car on the day, she'd probably only do a few laps in the arvo and that's about it. If they have to pay an extra $210 they won't bother for such a small amount of time and she'll just go passenger but if she can just pay to be a passenger and sign on as a driver then they're keen for that.

I guess all it comes down to Ross is: are you/ACTSC being charged a fixed price to hire the track for the day (assumed to be 32 x $210 = $6720), regardless of how many people pay up for a spot? i.e: less than 32 people means more cost each, greater than 32 people means less cost (or lunch)?
If this is the case, then 32 cars entered covers your cost, and any additional drivers makes no difference, provided that they are licenced of course. yay? nay?
Certainly makes it a more attractive proposition to include extra drivers/passengers in the 32 cars if the owners are keen.

Good explanation Phil
While I'm on a roll with questions. What sort of format will the day run with? Split into groups of cars that run similar times? Looking at the list of attendees there will be cars doing times from 1:05 through to 1:15+.

I think I know what you mean. Basically it’s 1 car with 2 drivers but sharing one spot. I guess if the correct licences are held by the 2nd driver then this shouldn’t be a problem. So if you have an owner that is happy to share their car and their spot on the track then that shouldn’t be a problem. Considering the amount of time we will have on the track, I really can’t see that being an issue.
Also removed the reference to timing as they never got back to us as to pricing and the day will be untimed.
We pretty much need the 32 spots to be taken so the track hire and tuition from 5th Gear is covered and it also leaves us with some extra money to possibly get a huge subway lunch for everyone that turns up. So you hit the nail on the head Phil.
We will definitely sort the groups out so there are not slower cars on the road with quicker ones. So basically, I will not be in the same group as most of you lot...![]()

Both driver's (if sharing a car) can't be out at the same time in any case, so shouldn't be an impact
That's right, you're gonna be in a heaps faster class RossWe will definitely sort the groups out so there are not slower cars on the road with quicker ones. So basically, I will not be in the same group as most of you lot...![]()
Don't be forgetting, you own perhaps the pinnancle of Toyota's sportscar development (along with the homologated GT4's), many of us have inferior early generation Corollas and Celicas with truck axles and cart springs![]()

Shotgun slow newbie group, first time out should be fun
Will anyone have timing beacons there? Or suggest a decent one that doesnt cost the earth...
I'll be in the 1:11-1:15 group but reserve the option to move into sub 1:11 group if I can get it all together
Being untimed all day, I assume passengers are allowed all day?
Datto is finally running, hoping to get adjustable rear crossmember and kaaz 1.5way installed in time![]()

Hey Phil I might have to ask a favor of you and get you to update my racechrono on the phone as I doubt I will have my lap top replaced by then.

Not a problem at all mate. I'll check if my old nokia is compatible with the software too, then we can take that as a backup. We can share the 5hz GPS receiver between our two cars for the sessions, do you still have the velcro pad on the dash?
