I have had it suggested that it could be my head gasket, seal between two of the cylenders :|

But I will change the filters tomorrow and see if thats the prob.

    if all else fails, you look for 3 key things that make an engine run ;
    (1) fuel
    (2) spark
    (3) compression

basically everything branches of those 3 things in some way. id check that all the plugs are sparking first,

then id squirt some fuel in the inlet through a vacuum port then see if it runs breifly, then dies. if this is the case, examine the fuel system more closely.

if there is fuel and spark but it wont run, check compression

    SR20?
I wonder if its people not bothering to change the fuel filter because its a Nissan or if the SR20 doesnt particualy like it as the Pulsar is also an SR20 ?

( I still think its the filter by the way )

the SSS is an SR20, as is the GTiR.

People dont bother changing fuel filters, or filters in general, because they dont think of it.

its a very easily overlooked part of your service, sometimes, like my car, a fairly decent sized job.

i have an MA70, and i beleive my filter to be in the fuel tank, which means, i have to drop the tank in order to change it, which is why ive postponed it so much.

also, your post was a grammatical nightmare to read, i still dont fully understand what your trying to say.

Might be stupid, but did the fuel have ethonol in it? the petrol station up the road has ethonol in all their fuel and when it went inot my GF's car it started over heating (aided by lack of liquid! ) mis firing and dropping cylinders! so I'd becareful of that shit. To be honest I'd never touch the crap again.

But yeah first thought fuel filter.

    Sorry about my insane gibbering
I was having a dig at the sr20, I was just wondering if the Silvia was a ca18 or the sr20 as the ex's Pulsar is an sr20 aswell. I nevar had a problem with my sr20 Silvia in the three years I had it but its always fun having a dig at the "opposition".

Well I took the EFI filter off (it was a commondoor one) and the fuel flowed fine out of it, all clear no gunk or anything. But my mate suggested I could have gotten water in it which would have fucked it, I am not sure of that, but once I get the new ones on I will let you know how she is going.

when you cranked it with the return line off.. was the flow of fuel out of the return a drizzle or a gush.. eg could you fill a 1l bottle in under a minute kind of flow?

Well today I changed both filters, the EFI filter didnt really have any gunk come out of it, however the other one had a shit load of grit and stuff in it. Now the bad part, it still doesnt start, I think it might be closer than it was before(sounds like it almost catches) but I think it might just be my hopes.

Next on the list to check are:
Check the spark again, and that each plug is getting a good spark and that each one is wet after some cranking.
    Check compression between cylinders.

If those two are ok I will assume that my Wolf 3D has shit itself. I am getting funny displays on the screen but have been for awhile(like about a month). So I might try and reload the bitch see if that changes anything.

I have just had another thought, the reading was showing the rpm to be around 20,000 rpm while cranking, I was thinking this might be setting off the rev limiter(set at 7,000) and as such cutting fuel. I might try with a disabled rev limiter later on tonight.

On a funny note someone left me a note on my windscreen asking if I wanted to sell it, hehehe doubt he knows about its non-running state.

Yeah it was a gush, I had a 600ml bottle and half filled that in under 15 secs.

    tops..

the 20,000 rpm thing sounds hella-weird.. if the wolf is saying that.. does it control the spark? because assuming it thinks that.. it would be all over the shop..

Yeah the 20,000 is off the wolf hand controler, so I am not sure if it is cutting spark because it thinks that it is over reving. But I am not sure if the wolf is seeing this 20,000 or it is just the hand controler fucking up again, however normaly when the hand controler fucks up the whole screen displays gabage not just the rev area.

Update - Tried with the limiter off and have had no success, I want to check spark, but I am begining to think this might be a Wolf/Electical issue. Once I have checked compression I will know for sure.
