Talking Re: Out of fuel -> Now wont start

i once ran my 13BT almost out of fuel, and it died about 5 times on the way home, then wouldnt start again, i put 20 litres of optimax in it, and it still wouldnt start.
i rang my mechanic and he said it sounded like blocked injectors.
i got him to tow it and check it out, after about $70 for having the injectors cleaned it went fine again, he advised me that an EFI car should never be run to less than 1/4 of a tank.
hope it gets going soon! i know what its like to have to walk down the road to try fix my car a few times a day.

PS as someone else said before, did you put in ethanol fuel?-i put a tank worth in my KE35 once and it kept stalling, and generally ran like a dog.

i'd start with the wolf computer showing you 20,000 rpm.. that can't be good. Disconnecting the limiter wouldn't do anything anyway IMO... because doesn't it mean the ECU still thinks the engine is going at 20,000 RPM... hence cutting it off coz there is no map map at that range and the ECU has gone cuckoo.??
Research has shown child in front seat causes accidents, accident in back seat causes child

Very true, the hand controller has been spouting crap for awhile though, I will tow it down to my tuner(luckly about 3 kms away). However I am still not sure on spark or compression, so that will be checked first.

Don't you need to bleed the injectors of air after running out of fuel? I thought so, but I have never run completely dry to find out!

40 odd psi should bleed them pretty good

they should be fine.. if there's fuel pressure, the injectors are opening.. (as shown by the wet plugs hopefully) and there's spark.. either the spark is at the wrong time.. or there is soo much or not enough fuel/compression..

Hopefuly I will get to check some shit out on the weekend. At least it is back home for now(had a mate tow me up the hill to my house).

I am getting spark... my testing method was a little shitty. I am going to get some new leads and plugs for her, they current ones are shitty and I dont trust them and I thought I might aswell replace the plugs at the same time... I noticed the terminals on my coil packs had some surface rust, I was thinking that I should just use a wire brush to clean them up, this is fine right?

    Cheers dudes

Very random but try running a nice thick cable from your engine to the chassis.

It seems that it is the wolf 3d, it is reading rpms all over the place, I am sitting in my car now(ahhh wireless) and watching it crank, I am getting readings of over 20k rpm!. Any ideas on this one, could it be a bad earth, or some other issue with my coils.

I have found the rpm issue... this is quite concerning, the cam sensor had poped out, it had been ejected from the back of the head... the bolt was still there but the sensor was freely sliding in and out, she is cranking now and getting much closer to holding, but as she hasnt been started for sometime she is being stubborn.

EDIT: Its alive, cant idle for shit, and the timing is way out, but it runs. Heaps cool, now to adjust the timeing.
