This year we not only have a new venue, the biggest collection of Toyota's this side of the Orion Nebula, but IIRC, we may have the top 5 most handsomest men in Toymods all gathered in the one place!!!!

Trophy schmophy, like the others have said, theres some pretty damn schmick cars (I can tell that even from just seeing photos over the past few years!), no matter how much effort youve put into your car theres always gonna be bigger and better. And if someone wins a trophy well they probably deserve it as theyve probably put in so much more time and money, blood sweat and tears than you can image, to me watching someone else get recognition for that would give me a fuzzy feeling just being happy for them

Finally getting to meet everyone will be the biggest high for me, and well this is my first car show and im driving from Brisbane for it, and this is the tidiest my car has ever been, it at least gave me motivation to fix up all the little things that have annoyed me with my car. So to me im getting plenty of self satisfaction out of just attending the show with my car! I know i'll be going home with a big smile after this weekend regardless!

Seriously, Im already losing sleep at night because im so excited... like a kid at christmas

you are not silly, you like me obviously have a passion.

The guy who called me soft but, obviously doesn't know the effort I put into getting the GT out of storeage
or what I do for a living.
(I maintain a TV site the size of Gore Hill).

I put my family and my work ahead of any leisuretime activity
and the GT will be around next year unlike some fast and furious drivers.
I have kept this car intact from acquisition in December 1976.

So sorry I cant come but the logistics of taking a valuable and rare 1973 TOY to Sydney and back
at such short notice was daunting.
As is driving in Sydney on Sunday with an 8x12 in tow.
More daunting was the idea of anything going wrong with it if I drove it all the way.
Who would help me retrieve it and how, you would all be at the venue.
And as far as what happens to stranded cars at sides of highways in NSW.
I saw an RT104 run off the road up near Temora.
Passed by a week later no wheels, no radios, no lights.
I saw an XX Celica at side of road near Ararat and smiled as each time we went by over next months there were no seats, not lights, no wheels.
I cant imagine the life expectancy of a car like the GT left on the newell highway while I went for help.
So weighing up the logistics I will plan for Easter 2011 and spend a few days up in NSW not just 24 hours.


Yup I'm soft I did a risk analysis and came to the conclusion too risky to go 1100k for 6 hours on show and then drive back 1100k through the night or day depending on where I wanted to sleep.
And then do three nights of shift work starting at midnight Monday where I would need all my wits about me working on high power FM transmitters running 10,000 volts.
