Depends what you value your time at I guess. The time spent properly detailing a car you could come close to earning that kind of cash depending on your employment.

Not to mention each time I have detailed my car for Nationals or Toyotafest I spend probably $50-100 on product, microfibre wipes etc.

Last year's winner for "best late model" copped a last minute rinse with some all in one wash n wax, and was then driven to the show.
