after i sold my 18rg + w50, i was only out of pocket 500 for the engine and box .

bang for buck for the brakes would be the hilux/peugot/corona setup.

search the old forums =>articles => peugot/hilx brake upgrade for old celicas

    dude!! go the rotor!!

i am putting a 13bt in my ra28, they are light, compact and make heaps of power, they sit beautifully behind the front axles so wont stuff up the handling, and they sound awesome!!
they not that hard to put in and if you decide to go the 13b(if its legal in your state) then you have 2 mounting options for the engine mounts as the 13b engine mounts are on the side but if you put the 12a front cover on them, the engine mounts are at the front!!

mine wont be in the car for a bit yet as i am saving up for my new turbo and fmic but its not a hard conversion, just the same as doin any other conversion, new mounts etc

at the end of the day its your car, so your preference wins, but for great power and handling the rotor is the only motor!!

300rwkw is a hell of a lot of power, in fact I'd say that's more than you could hope to use in an RA23 on the street. Have you actually been in a car with that sort of power? Even 200rwkw is likely to make you poop your pants...

um yeah so ive spoken with Andrew Vibert from Central Victorian Auto Parts, (see classifieds) about purchasing the 1ggtte with w58 box, complete, any tips before i do so, just in terms of the process of buying and shipping and etc

i understand that obviously he is a reliable source as he is toymods sponsor, im not questioning that, just anymore advice that you may have to give me in terms of extra parts that may not have been outlined in the conversion tech notes

also, if i do go ahead, the old engine complete running mech a1 will be availiable if anyone is interested

visually inspect / get a compression check if you can.

if they have the facilities to run it that would be good. and take some 1 mechanically minded with you.
